As the title suggests, all of my armours that I craft have the same look as either the enchanters coat or defenders coat. For example, I'll try to craft a Sturdy Battlemage Coat (which I have both schematic and materials for) but it will come out looking exactly like the default Enchanters coat. I have the same issue when I attempt to craft any type of Mail, it comes out looking like the default defender mail. I am playing on PS4, and can't find this issue on any forums. Is there a fix for this? I recently downloaded the Black Emporium update as well as spoils of the Arishok. It sucks as I hate both of these mails, and I would like to create some cool looking gear.

If you look at the armors, you will see that they are not "exactly" like the enchanter's coat. The first image you posted has the PC wearing a mail tunic under the coat, and the second has the PC with a leather vest and scarf. All of the DAI armors for all of the classes work this way. All of the coats look similar, all of the mails look similar, and so on. The same applies to the followers; there are only 2-3 model variations for each of them, regardless of what you give them to wear.
This is a purposeful design decision so that the PC and followers have a cohesive appearance, with some slight variation, all throughout the game. You can further customize the appearance with arm and leg upgrades.
The "cool" Inquisitor armor for each class is the "armor" variety, rather than "coat" or "mail." All of these have a progression as you get higher quality; tier 1 is more simple than tier 3.

I know this is incredibly old, but I was just looking for an answer to this same thing. Especially because I looted some Hunter Mail that I like the look of for my dwarf rogue but wanted to see if I could make something better. And the crafted Hunter Mail looks literally NOTHING like the looted version. Which is a damn shame because the looted version is much nicer.
