Hello and I have installed Inquisition and booted up, tried to use my Xbox One gamepad and wasn't getting a response. Tried altering settings to "Gamepad" and now unfortunately not only do I not have a gamepad response, but I can't change the setting back to keyboard + mouse. Doh.
Tried reinstalling gamepad drivers, no dice. Working fine in several other Steam games.

If you are locked out of the start menu, go to
Users\user\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age Inquisition\Save
Delete the preferences files there.
Still doesn't fix gamepad support but will let you play w/ M&KB.

And to make my previous statement more clear - this leaves the player stuck sitting at the "Start" screen with nothing else to do.
Is there even have any option to reset preferences to default somewhere?
November 2014
Aha - you can at least go to - Users\user\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age Inquisition\Save - and delete the preferences file there.
Still doesn't fix gamepad support which apparently is broken for PC...yay

Pretty sure the only gamepad the game offically supportes is the Xbox 360 controller for windows. NOT Xbox One. I'm not sure if the console 360 controller will work or not, but it might.

Yeah same thing is happened to me with the 360 controller so its not just xbone. Unbelievable. Am trying the fix in the files, its repairing now, hoping this works. An hour and a half Ive been trying to play, I just want to play the game we have been waiting YEARS for!!!!

xbox 360 controller does not work. Way to go EA...you managed to mess up a simple task yet again. Not even an option to reset to default so that you can play with a keyboard...WTF

Are you using the console controller or the one made for windows?

Hey, I'm just testing this on my end and it's been working fine. Did you get the drivers from the MajorNelson Blog? Be sure to restart the game after the driver install. Also, please try plugging out any unused USB devices, in case that is a factor.

I am using the drivers straight from microsoft, I can try those out real quick though.
