[PC] Descent DLC - Investigate the corpses crash SOLUTION

I think you guys are getting mixed up here. This problem is to do with the game crashing after examining the corpse. Not being able to interact with the corpse is due to an enemy hiding in some corner that needs to be killed in order to be able to examine it.

There are no more enemies. I've been around the entire floor. No red dots. No enemies. Empty.

If you are still haveing issues can you try an ea game advisor to see what they can do .

For those of you on windows 10, have you updated your drivers to the windows 10 compatible drivers?

Same issue, game crashes on clip start up after selecting corpses. No modes. Windows 8. (this game is so depressingly BROKEN)

This solution DOES NOT WORK for me

I have Windows 8 on a PC.

I have taken all the mods that I used out for both JoH and Descent. I had no problems with JoH

I have changed the patch version from 10 to 11, 12 and back and I still crash when the clip for the "Investigate the corpses" starts.

I have walked around, gone back to the start, done other side quests for a bit;come back and tried again and still crashed.

I have done this for the past 3 days. This solution is not a solution,

Is there anything else that worked?

This bug can't be solved by changing patch version.

The bug due to wrong respawn point near elevator down.

One or more of the genloks spawned under the floor mesh.

And you can't kill it or even see it. And game not entering battle mode.

Thou I don't understand why game in no-battle mode crashing if I try to investigate corpses.

Same on xbox here.

But in some cases solution works.

Try to:

1. Remove all mods from Update game folder: Patch_something, merged etc.

2. Remove Patch folder

3. From Origin client run "fix issues" to download patch again

4. Edit package.mft inside Patch folder, up version to 11

5. Run game, load you save near corps, or save before entering room

6. All should be fine. Just continue game without mods

It seem that ModManager 0.57 not support Descent. Even without mods, only "Official Patch" mod can crush your DAI.

I tried this but now I can't load my games. It says they require a higher patch. The only way I can load them is making an empty patch with mod manager but I still get a crash.
