Using the vc2012\redist work thank you.

Worked for me too.  For the person who asked where to find this, go to the __Installer\vc directory in your Inquisition install.  go into the 2012 folder and run the .exe there.

Found a way to cheat the installer I think, at least for my problem.  Since it was the vc2008SP1 version that wouldn't install, I renamed the existing distribution there, and copied the 2013 distribution file, which I could install manually, into that directory (the vc2008SP1 one), and since it had the same filename, just left it as is.  Installer worked.  Game seems to be working fine so far.

Just spent 1.5 hours downloading game... had same error and did a repair to see if that would fix the issue. Now it wants me to redownload the entire game... I swear to god EA and Origins is the biggest POS company and service there is. If they didn't make me use this **bleep** service I never would. Will try fix with Installer directory once it is done downloading... again. **bleep** you EA.

Uninstall KB2918614 and KB3000988, restart and then try again. Worked for me on Win 7 x64 with same errors on vc++2008sp1

I still cannot install DRAGON AGE, Although I go to VC2008, 2012 or 2013. I don't know why when I buy a legal game, but I have to find some solution to fix any bug with myself. It should happen with pirate game only, right? Now, I REALLY UPSET WITH THE VENDER. I may do not want to refund more than 2 times.

Thank for reading.

To anyone facing the VC++ redist 1601 error.

This might help you as it did also help me when I was facing the same problem after reinstalling my Win7 64-bit Ultimate.

Would be nice if EA would just fix there installer to not run a 7 year old C++ operating system. Need to just change the code in the installer to not run 2008C++ so people that spend $60 on a game are not pissed before they ever install it.

I cannot play this game on PC. I have tried every work around on this message board and none of it works. I have windows 8.1 and do  not even ask if I have latest drivers and all that **bleep**. I am not an amateur. This is on Origin, not my rig.
