I got flagged as Spam somehow (probably because I crossposted to the DAI and MEA forums) so I'm going to try this post again...
I'm having lockups on load with Dragon Age Inquisition AND Mass Effect Andromeda. It’s worth noting that the game used to work. Unfortunately I'm not entirely sure what would have changed software-wise since the last time I ran these games; there have been no hardware changes.
When I launch Dragon Age Inquisition, I get the Press Start screen. I can get into the configuration menus. I can choose New Game and pick my race and difficulty. I get the loading screen with the tip cards, then the screen turns black with the loading icon in the lower right. It freezes here. It freezes at the same point if I load a previous save. I can alt tab out and end the task, so it doesn’t crash the whole PC.
Mass Effect Andromeda just locks up in the first loading screen after selecting New Game
Here’s what I’ve done to troubleshoot.
Configured Origin and the games to run as Admin
Updated nvidia drivers
Reinstalled the game.
Uninstalled origin and the game, manually deleted any remnants of saved games and folders, Ran CCleaner and Reinstalled
Ran the game under a different user profile
Disabled all overlays (origin, nvidia experience, ansel)
Disabled Windows Defender and Firewall (no other AV)
Disabled all game controllers
Closed all other background apps
Set the game to run in a window, at the lowest resolution, with lowest settings.
Ran a clean boot
Uninstalled all my games and Origin again
Used DDU to completely uninstall graphics drivers
Reinstalled the latest Geforce drivers and did not install Geforce Experience.
I’ve tried doing a selective startup disabling all services, but the game won’t even launch; it wants to do an activation over Origin, and a selective startup disables your internet connection.
System details:
WIndows 10
i7 2600
GeForce 970

DXDiag and MSInfo reports included.

This is very puzzling, especially because it happens in two games and you've been very thorough in your troubleshooting.

I see you have multiple disk drives. Have you tried installing the game to a different drive?

I reinstalled it on a different drive and the issue persisted.
I even devoted my day to reinstalling Windows completely, reinstalled the game on a different drive, and the issue persists.
There must be some underlying issue here, but I don't get why it used to work....I played through the game in its entirety.

Thanks for the tip, but still no joy...
Here's a report from Event Viewer if it helps..
