I had the same problem ... but I solved it !!! ... "trainers are grouped in a little circle" - these are not the trainers !!! Go out to the right of the room where is the Cullen - in the castle corner are "correct trainers" ... I could choose to specialize

Thank you for the posts, sorry for not replying previously. If you sitll have this issue, can you list the system you are on?

I didn't experience this myself, but I did find on my warrior playthrough that I barely used my specialisation. I know this isn't a solution by any means but playing without an active specialisation would still be somewhat feasable.

I am playing this on PC and am having a similar bug.

The trainers are all in a location in Skyhold that cannot be reached, no way for me to specialize.

Is there a workaround for it?

Rato, which class are you?

Can you PM me a copy of your most recent save? It'll be a timestamped .DAS file located at My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age Inquisition\Save

Rato501-   go on the walls to the lower right corner of the castle - there you will find trainers specialization - are not a person standing over the gate of the castle

EDIT:  Ok, was having trouble with this, because I looked in the courtyard.  The Warrior trainers are at a different location (than where they were for the Mage playthrough).

I have still not been able to find lord chancer. There's no quest icon and can't find where previously was. Where is lord chancer?

At least you got so far as crafting. The game won't even let me do that. I'm on the Way of the Templar quest. Got all the materials needed. But the game only counts the book as an accomplished task... WTF?!! I actually sold all my items, and tried again, but no dice. This really sucks. Can't believe they focused on fixing exploits when these types of game breaking bugs are still out there.

I noticed that in addition to no warrior trainers in the location where I go the quest, I couldn't find blackwall and others where they were indicated on the map. saved and reloaded, trainers showed up, could turn in reaver mission.

Any resolution to this? Just ran into this playing on PS4. I keep a lot of saves so I went back to test things. As soon as I unlock the trainers, go talk to them, go out to any other location, then come back to skyhold it happens. All I see are three trainers that are not the warrior trainers standing in a little circle unresponsive. The trainers that appear change each time i go to the location on the castle walls, looks like rogue trainers sometimes, other times mage trainers I think. I'm 40 hours in and there's no starting over. Almost a year after the original post...will this get patched?
