I am trying to download/install Dragon Age 2 from the Origin Application for Windows 8.1. Everytime I try to install it, it give me "DirectX Setup Error: An Internal error occurred." I have tried to unstall the game and redownload it and that didn't work. I have checked to make sure that my graphics drivers are up to date. I have a GTX 860M.
I think I have tried everything. Anyone have any suggestions?

The fix for me was to go to the redist folder under DirectX in the install folder of DA2 and manually trigger the directx installer (C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age II\__Installer\directx\redist\dxsetup.exe)
Something isn't working when the installer tries to call dxsetup.exe, but the reason it is doing this is that the DX requirement hasn't been met. Just manually run dxsetup.exe and click through the prompts, then you can install DA2 from Origin.

I have tried to search the internetz but I have not found any solution for this matter.

Since people are still having download issues, here's an easy solution I found:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRfCNk-DsWg
Although, the video shows the Youtuber fixing his copy of Mass Effect 3, I was able to follow all of his steps with the same result for Dragon Age II.
Programs Files (x86)/ Origin Games / Dragon Age II / _Installer / directx / redist
1.) Create a new folder within the redist file, you don't need to name it anything specific,
2.) Select all files within redist and move them into the new folder,
3.) Three files need to be excluded from your new folder, DSETUP.dll, dsetup32.dll, and DXSETUP.exe. Leave these three inside redist,
4.) Continue the installation process in your Origin library and it should finish downloading.
I hope this helps you fix your issue,
Fetal.
