Dead space 3 eei interface glitch

I'm playing Dead Space 3,backwards compatible,and on the Xbox one. I'm having a serious issue with the eei interfaces. At chapter 10, I can't do he eei,as the right stick input seems to be scrambled. Left stick works fine,but the right sends the cursor going in random, uncontrollable directions until I run out of time. I'm less than 50% through the game and can make no further progress. Is his a known glitch? Is there a fix?
