Dead Space 3: Can't Connect To EA Servers (Already Connected)

Hello this is AlphaSkywalrus, a recently new member, I recently purchase Dead Space 3 to play by myself but I have a friend who has had this game and wants to play Co-op with me, but when I try to launch the co-op it tells me I am not connected even though I can open the overlay and search stuff on the in app browser. Please help. Thank you.
