Dead Space 3 Auto Minimizes and only shows a black screen when I try to open it.

Same problem still. Tried the compatibility mode. Don't have any weird controllers or similar. It just "alt-tabs" to desktop everytime I try to get in game. The sound works for a while before the desktop though. Really annoying.

I have created a system.txt file for the settings with setting for 1080p, but I have the same problem, with the small difference that now the monitor doesn't tell me that the resolution (of the black screen) is not the optimal of the device.

I've also got the same problem with the game loading as a black screen, a short amount of sound and then minimising to the desktop, and doing so again when I click on the game's icon on the task bar. I'm running Windows 7 with a AMD HD 6900 card, anyone know any fixes?

Edit: Updating to the latest catalyst drivers did not help.

When any mssage thread has been flagged as "SOLVED", the only applicable additions are regarding variations to the solution, not new reports of difficulty.  A solved thread isn't going to be useful for a different solution, unless / until you or someone else claims the solution is FALSE, so the thread isn't solved, and you do not make that report within the thread itself.

Black Screen on startup, no audio, have to kill program from taskman.

Tried:

Compatibility mode (Vista and XP)

Run as Administrator

Disable Firewall

Disable Antivirus

Add to DAP exception

Create a system.txt with definition 1080p

I get a black screen, brief audio and then the game minimises to the task bar, maximising the game just gives me the same few seconds of black screen + audio.

Specs:

Win 7 SP1

Asus radeon HD 6900
Intel® Core™ i7-2600K

OCZ Vertex3 128GB (game is installed on a WD green)

Yup That got it for me, after 3 days downloading and uninstalling, updating, repairing re-installing I was going to give up. but now it works THANKS GUYS!!
