Cross progression not working

i had this exact problem. my main account is on xbox and it’s linked to my EA account, i moved to pc a long time ago, around last christmas and my pc account is also linked to my EA. i got the prompt and it said it was loading and sent me to the lobby without anything else. this was in october. i’ve been logging in pretty frequent ever since to see if i would get another prompt and/or the option for cross progression but i have not.

Regardless, you will lose progression if you unlink any of your platform accounts from either/or EA Account.

So.. my issue is when I made my steam account last year I linked it to a fresh EA account. This EA account has zero progress on apex or any game. I want my steam account connected to my main EA account that hasn’t had a steam linked to it yet. Am I able to safely link my steam and EA account or since my steam has been linked to another EA account am I screwed?

It won't work if you have existing progress on your Steam account.

But in my opinion, in this case I believe it shouldn't be a problem.

Just in case though, (and only do this if you don't have any saved data on the EA Account that is connected with your Steam Account) you could contact EA Support if you'd like to delete the EA Account that you don't want to use: https://help.ea.com/en/help-contact-us/?product=ea-account&topic=delete-ea-account&category=manage-m...

If they delete the EA account then what happens to the connected Steam account if it’s not linked? Does that essentially wipe the progress? Apex was launched but I never loaded in past the title screen. I’m afraid that counts as some “data” but I have no clue. I was recommended to make a whole new Steam but I want my progress all in one place.

Unless you have it linked under an account, I believe you should be fine. I'm going to be researching this thoroughly because I want to make sure that I can give you folks the right information because that's a very good question.

EDIT: After further research, in this case you should be okay with playing other platforms if you do not care losing progress from your other account.

Just to be clear, did you find out if when you link your steam to a 2nd EA account that you get the 2nd EA account’s progress? Also, I really appreciate you taking your time to respond and research!
