Cross-progression bug

★★★ Newbie

Cross-progression totally failed on my account. I played once or twice on a PC and got to level 10.. I usually play PS5 and have been playing playstation for 6 years.. Cross-progression update comes by and deletes my ps5 account and keeps my level 10. So terrible

Hey @Cameron_Golds,

Sorry to hear about the trouble you've run into.

To clarify, this is not due to a bug with Cross Progression, but is due to the fact that your PSN account was unlinked from the EA account where that progress was initially earned.

It looks like this particular EA account had not even launched Apex on PlayStation until the end of December, so if you had played prior it would have been under a different EA account.

Progress is stored at the EA account level, not on your individual platforms like PS5. This progress cannot be transferred between separate EA accounts, so moving the PS5 account from the EA account where that was earned has caused you to lose access to that progress.

You would need to relink the PS5 account to its original EA account to try restoring that progress as outlined in the guide below.

Now that Cross Progression is here: what you need to know

It’s gotta be a bug issue because i had already had my account updated to the first cross progression and it kept my PSN the same.. I

just went to my EA account and it says that my PSN is linked to it.. I’m not understanding what i need to link considering all of my progress was on my PSN account..

I’ve used the same EA account for as long as i can remember is what you’re asking me to do is unlink my account on EA.. And then link my PSN account onto it?

@Cameron_Golds

Progress is not stored on your PSN account, but rather the EA account that was connected to your PSN account when that progress was first earned.

Your current EA account never even launched Apex on any PlayStation device until last month, so since you've played on PlayStation extensively, that must have been on a different EA account.

You'll need to track down this older EA account and link your PlayStation account back there as well to try recovering any progress that was lost.

If you don't recall another account or no longer have access, you'll need to speak with support so they can try to help locate that with you.

If you create a new case here and select Game Support > The EA app > I want to update my EA Account information or I need help logging in to my EA Account, you should be able to get in touch with the support team so they can take a look.

This is so unbelievably unhelpful.. i’ve had the same EA account for years and the account that i’m currently playing on is one that i used on a PC years ago.. Of course the last time i opened it was december that’s when the cross progression happened.. If it was the first time ever why did it start at level 11? And if it isn’t system specific how can you link different accounts to your ea account? (psn, xbox, pc, etc.)

What's EA Play?

New name, new look, same great benefits: EA Access and Origin Access are now EA Play.
