Background: When asked why he joined the games, he replied with, "Because Artur has a debt to pay." Huntsman is a skilled tracker that is followed by his trusty robotic prowler named CeCe. Huntsman's real voice is unknown; he communicates via a synthetic voice box.

 

 

Appearance: Huntsman is a somewhat tall man wearing something similar to a militarized super suit from head to toe. A tiny set of tubes can be seen of the right side of his neck that glow purple. His suit is also adorned with cultural accessories. His left arm is adorned with a gauntlet and a knife sticking out of it.

The Huntsman's real name is unknown. What is known is that Artur is his brother, and Bloodhound is his child. Before Bloodhound was born Artur, the Huntsman, and Bloodhound's mother lived peacefully in the village, until a corporation showed up hoping to research the surrounding area, and wanted a local's help. Both Artur and the Huntsman refused. Later that year, Bloodhound was born at the cost of the mother's life. Overcome with grief, the Huntsman was met by the corporation again. The corporation promised to reunite the Huntsman with his wife using a technology based on parallel worlds that would be completed in several years (Wraith’s portals). In return, the Huntsman would help the corporation with their research. Agreeing, the Huntsman left the village and abandoned his child. The Huntsman became corrupted by technology and the potential of reviving his deceased wife. Soon the corporation began mining the whole area, destroying nature and ancient sites that the Huntsman's village held dear. When Artur found out that one of mining sites would be a respected burial ground, Artur chose to confront the Huntsman. The two fought to the death with Artur winning and Huntsman’s throat being slashed open. When the mining crew found the Huntsman, he was bloody and frostbitten. Huntsman was was rushed to a medical center off planet where he could receive better aid. Soon after the explosion occurred and the mining facilities were shut down.

Passive (Predator):

  • Huntsman and Cece deals +5% additional damage (round up) to the enemies’ back.

Tactical (Camouflage):

  • The Huntsman uses his cloaking device to blend into the background.
  • Activation animation time 1.5 sec; invisibility starts from distal body parts, followed by trunk of body, then head
  • Running causes slight warping instead of complete invisibility
  • Walking/crouching/aiming down sights has complete invisibility
  • Cloaking is cancelled when shooting or melee-ing, except when using a marksman or sniper rifle
  • Cloaking glitches when Huntsman is damaged; tactical is canceled when he receives damage total of 50HP

  • Huntsman knows where Cece is at all times.
  • Huntsman knows when Cece is being attacked.
  • Huntsman knows when Cece is attacking an enemy
  • Enemies seen by Cece are visible to Huntsman and teammates
  • Cece will automatically track and hunt enemies that are in 75m radius of Huntsman or 20m radius of Cece
  • Cece will prioritize enemies that are close to her and have been most recently damaged by Huntsman.
  • Cece will chase after opponents until the enemies are outside of Huntsman’s range (radius of 75 meters).
  • If Huntsman is eliminated/downed. Cece will continue to attack until she has no HP. She will follow the teammate who picks up the Huntsman’s banner.
  • Activating the ultimate again directs Cece to a location you are facing. This action is prioritized over her attacking someone.
  • When there are no enemies around, Cece will return to huntsman and walk by his side
  • Using healing items simultaneously heals Cece

 

 

Version 6.0

 

Passive (Relentless):

  • Shots that hit an enemy have a chance to be refunded into the magazine chamber (60% for marksman; 25% for other guns) i.e. if you had a machine gun that had a magazine capacity of 100 bullets, and you hit an enemy with all 100 bullets, you’d get 25 extra bullets in that same magazine, making the total bullets used in that one magazine clip 125 (100+25).

Tactical (Camouflage):

  • The Huntsman uses his cloaking device to blend into the background.

  • Running causes slight warping instead of complete invisibility

  • The health bars of enemies can be seen by the Huntsman. (Health bar is only revealed when an ally, Cece, or the Huntsman attacks the enemy)

Tactical (Weakness):

  • The Huntsman throws a bag of powder that covers an area (throwing distance 100m; area covers as much as when caustic’s tactical is activated). Enemies who walk through the powder reveal a portion of their body that’s more severely wounded than the others (only one body part, an arm, a leg, or specific area of the body). All players can see this as a bright neon pink color. Targeting this body part deals 10% more damage.
  • CD 40 seconds
  • Charges: 2
  • Duration of Effect: 15 seconds
  • Duration of covered area: 20 seconds

Ultimate (Man’s Best Friend):

  • Summon your trusty pet Cece by whistling (enemies in a 100m radius can hear the whistle)
  • CD: 45 seconds (cooldown timer is frozen until Cece is eliminated; ult cannot be recharged until then)
  • Cece has the same speed, HP, and attack as a prowler from the Old Ways Event.
  • Huntsman knows where Cece is at all times.
  • Huntsman knows when Cece is being attacked.
  • Huntsman knows when Cece is attacking/tracking an enemy, or when the enemy is found

  • Cece will automatically track and hunt enemies that are in 100m radius of Huntsman
  • If Cece is downed by an enemy, she can be revived like an ally by the Huntsman or any teammate. She cannot be eliminated.
  • Cece regenerates 2 HP per second after being out of combat for 2 seconds.
  • Cece automatically regenerates 50 health upon elimination/ assisted elimination
  • If player is eliminated/downed. Cece will continue to attack until she has no HP.

 

Tactical (No Rest for the Wicked):

  • The electric collar on Cece shocks her and enemies around her in a 4m radius; slows/shocks enemies for 4 seconds. Damage 10 HP/Armor.
  • If tactical is activated while Cece is downed, along with the primary ability, it can also revive Cece immediately. (CD: 30 sec)

 

Ultimate (Silver Bullet):

  • CD: 1min 30 seconds for 100%
  • Huntsman can use this ultimate at any percentage (i.e. 80%)
  • Huntsman takes out a sniper rifle and shoots a special bullet that can go through walls and buildings.
  • Each bullet deals 25dmg body/leg/arm; headshot 50dmg
  • Each bullet consumes 25% of the ultimate gauge; if the ult does not have 25% (i.e. 24%), it cannot be used.
  • Sniper rifle is bolt-action
  • Enemies hit by the bullet cannot use consumables for 25 seconds

 

Version 2.0

 

Passive (Tamer):

  • Cece has the same speed, HP, and attack as a prowler from the Old Ways Event.
  • Huntsman knows where Cece is at all times.
  • Huntsman knows when Cece is being attacked.

  • Cece regenerates 2 HP per second after being out of combat for 2 seconds.
  • Cece automatically regenerates 50 health upon elimination/ assisted elimination
  • If player is eliminated/downed. Cece will continue to attack until she has no HP.

Tactical (No Rest for the Wicked):

Ultimate (Pack):

  • Summon a second Prowler named Dede
  • Functions the same as Cece
  • Can be eliminated
  • Can be revived (but it's on a timer)
  • Tactical has the same effect
  • CD: 2min
  • Ultimate cannot be used while Dede is still around.

 

Version 1.0

 

Passive: Cece has a 30% speed boost. Cece has 1000 health. If Cece is destroyed, she revives in 1 min. When Cece is not in Hunt Mode, she stays next to Huntsman, and heals herself 10 health per second. Cece reveals the enemy she bites; she does not let go unless called back or destroyed; bitten enemies have a speed reduction of 30%; her bite does 1 dmg per second.

 

Tactical: Hunt mode; Cece will chase and bite the nearest enemy. Standby mode; Cece will run back to the Huntsman and be on standby; in standby mode, Cece absorbs 5% of damage inflicted on Huntsman.

 

Ultimate: Cece can self destruct damaging enemies and allies that are nearby. Cece will revive in 20 seconds.

@Adendon I'm interested in more of the lore for the huntsman. But there are a few things that look a bit too op or unfair.

First in your newest version it doesn't seem that cece is an ability anywhere, she's just there, and with no cooldown it looks like a constant 3 v 4. There's a similar thing addressed by another person with my concept Dragon Knight, but my prowler has a cooldown so it's not spammed or a constant outnumbered situation. Cece also cant be eliminated that's also very op in addition for teammates being able to revive her, her automatic revive, and her regeneration.

The ultimate can be used too often. I think ults should be worked for, and kept to an every now and then use. Going through walls is also very unfair as well as preventing enemies from healing. Then no one is safe and would render an ability like Gibraltars dome shield completely irrelevant.

I like some of the ideas here a lot but I think it just needs another look.

@Adendon Kinda like what DK said this is a really interesting character idea but it needs slot of fine tuning like maybe make Cece your tactical that moves around on her on accord in like a 100 meter radius for like 20 seconds and if she spots someone she follows them but doesn’t attack and you can see where Cece is on the map. if she is destroyed or goes to far she disappears and your tactical cool down starts

@Adendon Also for the ultimate that idea would not work instead what about an ultimate that allows you to spawn in controllable mech prowlers that you can ride or use to attack these would last for 10 seconds and if enemy’s are near by they will go berserk and attack the enemies doing 10 damage a hit and if they are in attack mode they only last for 5 seconds

@Adendon Heya there Huntsman. I really like the entire idea, and I'm glad that this has been updated to better suit the Apex field, though I do feel that Cece is still pretty powerful compared to other things in game. Though I do agree she should be able to track, I feel like she should have her senses a little more limited. 80m for the whistle to be heard to balance this back out, and Cece is only able to see at a distance of 50m, which will cause her to point the enemy out to Huntsman. If someone is within 20m, then she can track them through walls, giving her the ability to basically scan through a nearby wall to make sure you're not going to be ambushed. Cece should also have a minor ability set if the Huntsman is eliminated. The first idea I had was that pinging a respawn beacon will cause two things to occur: First, Cece will howl out like a wolf, and this will summon a smaller, weaker prowler. This prowler is basically going beserk the whole way as it doesn't care about anything but killing an enemy. Once it does this, it will run away. Second, Cece will charge towards the beacon on her own pathfinding algorithm, allowing your teammates to see the fastest route to that beacon. The mini prowler, just in case someone need to know, will only last about 15 seconds, and can only be summoned once per Cece activation. The other ability Cece can have is that she will automatically take shots for the ally that is carrying Huntsman's banner, ensuring that her master can be brought as best as she can.

These are just suggestions, but I feel like I made a valid idea.

@Adendon i like the idea i to have tried to design a character with a pet in the past and these are some of the more fun to do. however i have some problems with this (focusing on 5.0) that passive is great tracker rounds i love the idea. the tactical is pretty well rounded but i feel it wouldnt play well either against or just as the player. personally i feel you shouldnt lose momentum because it does seem like an escape tool and that would not make for a good one. so to combat that i would make it that it has a 2 second wrap around effect from feet to head that looks bad * if you take damage during it the effect will flicker a little in the damage area to much damage will make you flicker all over and then finally your revealed. you can still produce sounds via movement but any other actions will result in a reveal. ok so with the ult i do not feel like the prowler Cece should go away. sure she could be very strong after all she is an ult so i would rather do this. make her have a life bar and a long cooldown maybe like 3 minutes or something. from there Cece will come out and stay out unless she is killed in that case she is just returned to some place to rest. this lets you use her as an extension of yourself. additionally after shes out the ult could become a go check there command with a few second cooldown each way. i really like your idea but i did feel it was a bit strong but keep it up look forward to seeing more in the future
