Tiberium Wars runs too fast

I have an issue playing Tiberium Wars and Kane's Wrath campaigns on my desktop. The game runs too fast and there is no speed option in the settings. Is there a way to slow the speed down without changing the way my CPU functions?

I would prefer not to adjust the GPU or CPU functions on my computer I don't feel competent enough for that, but I do want to play the game at a normal speed. EA's help so far has been to tell me to adjust the compatibility setting to a previous version of windows and run as administrator, but that has no logical connection that I can see with game speed

The problem with EA is that they won't spend another dime on the great francise C&C.
EA are businessmen, not game developers/lovers.
