Local multiplayer / LAN play with Command

Is it possible to play the C&C series (I'm partial to Generals) locally still? Via LAN? I want to introduce this game to a friend and play skirmishes together, but I want to make sure local multiplayer still works first.

You now, I'm honestly not sure. There were LAN patches for the older games, but I have no clue whether there's one for Generals.

The best place to ask about that is probably the Revora community; they maintain the community online servers for C&C Generals.
