Hello there.
I recently purchased the Command & Conquer Ultimate Collection on Origin, having previously owned The First Decade Collection.
The reason I decided to get the Ultimate Collection is because for some bizarre reason, multiple games on The First Decade suddenly decided they would no longer work one day. Seemingly random.
To great disappointment, the same issues occur on the Ultimate Collection.
Please note, before purchasing and downloading the Ultimate Collection, I got rid of every last trace of every other Command And Conquer game from The First Decade.
Here are the issues:
Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun:
ISSUE #1: Please insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart application.
ISSUE #2: One or more DLL files are missing. Please re-install. (this issue only occured on The First Decade, with the patches installed)
Command & COnquer Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge:
ISSUE #1: ***FATAL*** String Manager failed to initialized properly
All of the above baring the DLL files one occured on both The First Decade, and Ultimate Collection.
On The First Decade, the only way I could get the games to load was to actually use the .EXEs in the folders, by changing them so they are run as administrator. Each time I used the Launcher, it reverted the changes and the games no longer worked.
This is highly irritating, as you can imagine.
