What's your origin version number?
And did you apply any patch to these games (like bibber's fixed launcher)?
My games will not launch with origin 10.5.60 or 10.5.61.
Some patches will allow you to launch the game without origin.

@505243267 I used the repair option to make sure bibber's fixed launchers weren't installed. My Origin version is 10.5.61.37414 - 758310.

@505243267So, you mean changing the Windows-language to English (US)? That could be right as I am Dutch, but also have my system set to English (US.) Can others that have the problem confirm if this fixes their problem? Then EA may know better where to look for.

Edit1: I can say that setting the language of Windows to Dutch does not cause any problems with launching RA2 or RA3.
Edit2: Also setting the Origin-language to Dutch, doesn't cause any launch problems with those games for me.
Edit3: So, from what language did you switch to English (US) to fix your issue? If you go back to your original chosen language, does the problem then occur again?

Detailed instruction:
There's no need to change your operating system or origin's language.
EDIT: Maybe you can choose other language in step 5, but Chinese (Simplified, China) will cause the issue. Other east Asia language may also cause the issue.
EDIT 2: EA should fix this ASAP as all of the workarounds have some side effects. Some program will not show east Asian characters correctly if you change system locale. Red Alert 2 will have disordered display if you tick Beta. You must stay offline if you use old version of origin.

@505243267 Ok, but that was already set to Dutch for me. So, that doesn't seem to be the issue here. If you revert the language change (like I told you in my late edits of my last message haha), does your problem re-occur then?

Edit: Yes, the problem occurred also at my side when following your instructions: You press play, it seems to do something and then the play-button becomes orange again. Nice catch @505243267 !
These are the reproducing steps! They will cause the problem and not resolve it. Thus don't follow these instructions please! Follow the instructions in the post above from @505243267 :
Hopefully EA Origin-team can now fix the issue now they better know what the cause is. Assuming this is the single cause that causes everyones problem.

I can confirm that changing language for non-Unicode programs to English (United States) helped me! @505243267 Thanks for another solution!
