  • CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • GPU - AMD Radeon RX Vega 64
  • Ram - Corsair LPX DDR4 3000MHz 8GB x2
  • Resolution you are playing at: 1920x1080
  • Screen mode you are playing at - Full Screen Exclusive
  • What kind of Harddrive do you have the game installed on (HD, SSD) : Samsung NVME 1TB
  • When did the issue occur: playing Skirmish, when large amount of AI units are moving

update: noticed that when it starts to stutter, switch back to classic graphic will reveal that it's actually progressing much further than HD graphic, however the audio is still synced to the HD graphic

last night i had a case that it stutters so bad, that the HD graphic completely hangs, but the classic graphic is still working, after a while the game thinks that I have lost connection, counted down and then the whole game hangs,couldn't jump back to Windows desktop except for the Start menu, need to sign out to regain control of Windows

Stuttering here as well; none of the suggestions seem to make it go away Frown

The framedrops also seem to occur during FMV and even in the main menu. When using my second screen while Red Alert is on my first screen, the stuttering even occurs on that second screen. It is as if my whole PC occasionally bogs down by something in Red Alert.

* Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4570 CPU @ 3.20GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHz

* NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650

* 1920 x 1200

* Full Screen (at one 1920 monitor, second monitor displays desktop)

* SSD

* Experienced during first camping mission

* DxDiag attached

ADD. Disable VSync didn't do much either.

Extra bug: when assigning another key (say F11) to switching graphics, you basically have to hold that key in order to play it with original gfx. When releasing it, it immediately switches back to HD.

Extra bug 2: edge scrolling is a bit fiddly as it doesn't always work properly. Perhaps this is due to the amount of stuttering?

  •
  • AMD  Ryzen 3 1300X Quad-Core
  • AMD Radeon RX 5700xt
  • 16gb ram
  • 1920x1080 primary, however it happens at all resolutions
  • Full screen, however it happens in all options
  • Currently installed on an HDD
  • Occurs in skirmish and campaign mode on Red Alert. Have not tried on the other version yet

Example: Red Alert Campaign, MIssion 1. Even in the first couple seconds, its already stuttering and all over the place. The moment something blows up, it just gets even worse

(DxDiag attached)

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8265U @1.60GHz * 8
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce MX110 2GB
RAM: 8GB DDR4 SDRAM 2.4 GHZ
Resolution: 1366 x 768
Screen Mode: Full Screen
Harddrive: 500GB - 1TB HDD

Happens worst during Skirmish (was against 3 AI), mainly when groups of tanks clash and exchange fire, sometimes the game will drastically skip, makes it difficult to target. Is not as bad in Legacy but still annoying. Also when selecting multiple units with mouse, often only a few units in the square will be selected. My computer was able to run original RA without any stutter or slowdown on my computers end.

Attached DxDiag

If you have experienced this please reply below with the following information:

  • DXDiags (if available)
  • CPU-- i7-8560U
  • GPU-- GTX 1060
  • Ram-- 16GB
  • Resolution you are playing at 3240 x 2160 (Native)
  • Screen mode you are playing at Windowed, Full Screen Exclusive, Borderless Windowed (or a combination)-- Full Screen Exclusive
  • What kind of Harddrive do you have the game installed on (HD, SSD)-- SSD (Only)
  • When did the issue occur i.e. during MP, during campaign (specifics appreciated)-- I've only played skirmish and early soviet campaign. In Campaign it seems like less of an issue. Most frequently the biggest issue seems to be large battles. It *feels* like it may be AI related because it's started sometimes when I play 1 vs 3 right from the start.

    Also looking at resource usage my Single Core performance will be maxed out one 1x core and GPU will be ~20% per Task manager (Not the best I know but It's what I have available.
