I have Burnout Paradise on Steam and have done for years and only getting round to redeeming it on Origin now for the discount for Remastered however when putting in my steam CD key for the game it tells me the product is already in use. Other games I've purchased through Steam (Mass Effect 2 and Alice Madness Returns) linked to my Origin account fine. Whats the problem here?

Burnout Paradise is a little bit special. It seems to be a part of the multiplayer feature that it already recognizes your Steam key with a persona of you in the background and hence don't let you redeem the code in Origin as well.
But, it is possible to connect the key both to Origin and Steam. When playing via Origin, it shows the user as playing in Steam status.
To make that work you have to contact the EA HelpDesk via live chat or telephone support.
Begin here https://help.ea.com/en/
Then select game, issue and create a case. After that you have a blue button which asks you how to contact EA. I created a direct link for your specific case:
Let us know if this worked out for you.
