You, who work for this company. Please get in contact with someone who can talk to the developers and ask them to allow controller reconfiguration.
I realize that not all games allow this and that in some games like resident evil 1, the poor controls increased the fear factor of the game, but this is a racing game. A game meant for joy. It would bring us all joy if you could take a tiny bit of initiative and reach out to the devs.

Personally I would copy gta5 exactly.
Which would be:
invert X axis look
L3 - look behind
R3 - Boost
X - e-brake
The rest of the controls are fine for me, but others might want to change it up. Why not allow customization.
