I have a gaming laptop with a hybrid Intel/nVidia. And I needed to do two things:
1. Set your graphic processor in the NVIDIA Control Panel -> Manage 3D settings -> Program settings (tab) for Burnout Paradise Remastered
2. Rename the file d3dcompiler_47.dll to (for example) d3dcompiler_47.dll.old in the game folder if you have a more recent one installed (which in my case with up to date Windows 10 is the case).
Since those changes the game runs flawless!

Worth a try. Where is the game's folder you're talking about? Is it where the main game was installed or under the user directory somewhere? I also have the more recent April Windows 10 update installed.
EDIT: Tried those things, it still crashed in online mode at exactly the same spot, right after the "connecting to server" message.

So what is EA/Origin's refund policy? If they can't fix this it's a defective product.

Thanks for sending that on @kIimau @mathematics654
In order to investigate further (and this goes for anyone with this issue), we're also looking for a MSInfo report.
Instructions on how to gather this can be found here.
Once you have it please send it to me in a private message and I can pass that onto the Burnout team.
Thanks,
- Andy -
