How to sign into alternate screenname?

I'm having trouble logging into a screename/alternate account on Spore. Isn't it just youremail.comcreenname and the password? I can see my alternate screenname/account on the Sporepedia, but I can't log into it via the game. It only lets me log in to my main account (ex. youremail.com), which is not what I play or upload creations from.
