Disconnect after creature creation

Hi,

After doing an evolution in phase 2 creature creation, my spore shows me as offline.  I am able to logon again afterward but after each evolution I seem to be getting set offline again.

I have tried

• Full uninstall/reinstall with revo uninstaller.  
• purchased on steam, but I already registered on origin.  Currently only origin version is installed.   
• compatibility mode, run as administrator.

My daughter is having the exact same problem, there's nothing terribly unusual about our network setup.
