Can't login to Spore Account

I have an EA account and copy of spore on steam. Whenever I tried to login, it just said "An unkown error occurred during registration. Please try again." I've been at this for HOURS how and am almost crying to myself. Please help me with the issues. Are the spore servers still up even??
