Are the spore servers down

My Spore game didn't save my last game. I'm new to it and maybe I didn't see the save button. However, my real issue is when I choose which stage ro start on, it wont go past the "choose diet" page. It will highlight my options, but won't click then to move on. I restarted my computer, but it didn't help.

@adorablebrea1642 No, they were not, you are able to play the game offline if the servers are down.
