There are many system issues with cats and dogs

This is what I experience so far

Can't call Service to hire a butler, etc.
Sims will cook many, many, many meals but will not eat to survive so they die.

Try taking Cats And Dogs off and see how it works.

Then put it back on and compare.

Whichever one you like better, play with that.

these issue sound like caused by incompatible mods.

The list is not complete so there might be other mods causing issues.

You must update or remove incompatible mods or you will run into issues
