my dead sims has no evidence of ever existing

my sims dad died and he is not in my sims household so when i go to change back to their house hold, there's no urn, no tombstone and when i check his wife's relationships he isn't on it and when i check the family tree he isn't on it and his ghost is not there. he's just completely wiped from existence. HELP
