I try to start game and get stuck on "Asset download" and then I get: Asset Download Error message

tried starting the game over 

tried rebooting Ipad

Are you currently on a WiFi connection or on your mobile data? 

This has been reported sporadically in the past, but was expected to be related to a connection issue: https://forums.galaxy-of-heroes.starwars.ea.com/discussion/30696/asset-download-error

I am having this same issue.  This has repeated itself for the last 2 updates.
