Woodworking Bug

Hi there I'm currently progressing my sim with the "nerd brain" aspiration but have run into an issue. The woodworking table isn't working at all. I've tried selling and repurchasing, buying it in a different colour, moving it away from the wall, changing its placement angle and moved it outside. I click on it to craft any of the options, my simoleons disappear, the icon appears in the queue then promptly disappears, my sim now doesn't even approach the table. This is very frustrating as it is a requirement in this particular aspiration. Anybody have any ideas?

Are you using mods in your game ?
Does it happen to all your Sims or just that particular one ?
