Update or Glitch?

So I noticed something since the most recent update (I just downloaded today)

Previously, if two sims I controlled were taking part in a romance/friendship story together I could burn through both of their energy to progress the story a little more quickly. Now, only the sim who initiated the event can use their energy while the other sim just says “[Sim name] is involved with an event” and can’t choose to do anything the progresses the story along.

Was this an intentional thing as part of the new update? Or is it a glitch? Either way I don’t like it 😭

Guessing it’s a glitch because I realize now that one of my sims is registering as having completed the event while the other still has quite a bit of time left over. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Sounds like some thing are a bit out of sync, does it happen with every event?

I’ve only experienced it with romantic events it seems
