Unable to Interact with Infants after installing High School Years

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Attempt to interact with an Infant or read a book
What happens when the bug occurs? 1) Sims unable to change Infant's diaper, or otherwise help with skills. Instead they glitch and reset themselves 2) Sims unable to interact with books. Instead they glitch and reset themselves.
What do you expect to see? 1) Sims should be able to interact with infant and perform related tasks. 2) Sims should be able to read books and use them to complete homework.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. I bought and installed High School Years.

Before installing HSY, the game functioned as expected, even with mods running.

Sims of all age ranges are affected by the interaction glitch and the book glitch. There may have been others, but as the game also began to lag I worked on troubleshooting instead of discovering them.

I removed all mods, both script and package files and repaired the game using the option in the EA app. Neither solved the issue.

@rsrochlin Do you have any LastException files in your documents folder ?

Best is to delete the ones you have, then trigger the error and check if new ones are created.
