UI thread infinite loop (100% CPU) when pressing "Main Menu" on the mission map

Summarize your bug UI thread infinite loop (100% CPU) when pressing "Main Menu" on the mission map.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Complete a GDI campaign mission. (Unsure if this applies to NOD too though I'd be surprised if its different.) Pass the score board so the map sequence begins. Before choosing a mission click "Main Menu".
What happens when the bug occurs? You'll be told that your campaign progress is saved and taken back to the main menu, however the main menu UI becomes extremely choked/lagged. -- It would appear that the thread responsible for the UI has entered an infinite loop or similar.
What do you expect to see? Not a lagged main menu.

Starting another mission doesn't seem to be impacted, but the UI will remain completely choked up until restarting the game entirely.

Never mind that. Looks like it happens when you pass through the map normally too.

This is a pretty serious issue...
