Troopers still revive after being defeated with event ability in GC

Summarize your bug The event ability for this GC reads that “units defeated by this ability cannot be revived,” yet they still revive if there are remaining stacks on the enemy (not just Dark Trooper—all of them). The event ability for the enemy states they will be revived, which cannot be prevented. These two descriptions are in blatant conflict with one another and, at best, should be re-written for clarity. At worst, it’s a bug. If it’s working as intended (and just poorly worded, yet again), why is there an event ability that prevents revives when the only method by which the enemy can revive is un-preventable? That’s a pointless inclusion that serves only to confuse and frustrate.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play the GC. Use the event ability before getting 3 kills.

Same problem here.

 

Also the Imp Troopers revive regardless of the stacks of Endless Ranks on them. All stacks will be gone from all troopers and they'll still revive. Seems like each toon has its own independent pool of Endless Ranks you have to burn through.

@anotherowname The wording is the same as other "revive cannot be prevented"/"units defeated by this ability cannot be revived. See Nightsister Zombie vs Destroy effects such as Nihilus's Annihilate or Mando's Disintegrate.

That said, there may be an issue with Dark Trooper being revived by Moff Gideon's lead after all stacks of Endless Ranks are gone, which shouldn't happen, which the studio has been made aware of.

@ChristophIV It's not just Dark Trooper. Piett is also reviving more than once from Gideon's lead, even after all stacks of Endless Ranks are gone.

What @ChristophIV said regarding the revive wording is correct.

 

As for Imperial Troopers being revived by Moff Gideon's leader ability, we've tested this, and all other Imperial Troopers were only revived once by Moff Gideon's leader ability when all stacks of "Endless Ranks" were removed. There appears to be an issue with the Dark Trooper being revived incorrectly by Moff Gideon's lead and we are looking into this.

I think the issue with Gideon's lead working after Endless Ranks has expired is that Gideon's lead clearly states "..the first time they are defeated each encounter." Fourth does not equal first.

I absolutely agree.

The first death of an IT should trigger both the gideon lead and the Endless Ranks. The endless ranks is not a savior-like effect, or a Tactical awareness-like effect, it explicitly states revives, so the unit dies first, and thus, should trigger all the effects linked to this, including the Leadership revive. The Leadership revive should not trigger on the 4th death of the unit.

 

But apart from this: the fact the Leadership revives a unit which was killed by the event abilty is pure bug. Or once again, this is a modified kit, where the Leadership revive cannot be prevented.
