Please specify your platform model. Nintendo Switch
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? Kibblekip
Please provide your squad mates' gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name if possible.
Are you using any software with an overlay? No
Which Legend were you playing (if applicable)?
Which Legends were your squad mates using (if applicable)?
Where did the issue occur? In a match
Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu. Unaffected by area
What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. Trying to use text chat
Did your squad mates also experience the issue? Yes
How many matches had you played in a row before the issue occurred? 0
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm)
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
How severe is your issue? Minor impact to gameplay
What happens when the bug occurs? When trying to use text chat, the keyboard will come up and can be filled in, but sent messages will not be displayed. Presumably messages sent by other players are not displayed, either.
What should be happening instead? Messages should be shown and visibly usable.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Attempt to use text chat to communicate with teammates on the Nintendo Switch version of Apex Legends, and have teammates attempt to communicate via text chat as well.
Since Season 10? the text communication on the Nintendo Switch version of the game has been broken, and it's impossible to send or receive messages to or from other players. This makes more direct communication difficult without using voice chat (of which lacks it's own volume slider, so I avoid using it).
