Stairs

When I try to build a staircase and on both sides is a wall, my Sims can´t go up there. It only works if at least one field is distance between the stairs and the wall. Could you solve it please?

As of 3/15/15, I am unable to duplicate this issue.  In a house of similar construction to the one pictured, my sims are able to traverse the stairs whether fully extended to the sides of the house or not.  One thing I did notice was that the columns appear to have been placed via bb.moveobjects; I did the same in my build, but it didn't affect use of the stairs.
