Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1) Choose a clean terrain like in NewCrest 2) Enter in Build Mode and build a 5x5 room 3) outside build a 3 section stairs. It will be built successfully 4) try copy it and paste inside the room in a way the stairs is close to a wall, in a non passage blocking way, like in the picture 5) you'll get an "Cant intersect foundations" error
What happens when the bug occurs? You get an "Cant intersect foundations" error You cant build the 3 section stairs inside a house. its unnuseful
What do you expect to see? I want to build a 3 section stairs usable inside a house, as a 2 section works

I'm trying use a 3 section stairs inside a house but I'm blocked from build it.
I'm not sure but i recently bought Snowy Escape and Dream Home Decorator. I dont know if it started after that

You can't place 3 section stairs like you built, because the upper part has to be outside the stairs, not over the steps.

I tested this this morning and @Gagea25 has the right of it. You can't build a usable stair in that configuration with short walls. The upper landing needs to land on a floor tile which can't be placed because it would be over the lower stair section. It's also a matter of headroom. Even if you could get the stair to place in that configuration, sims couldn't use it due to the lack of headroom so it would be useless in live mode.
But you can almost get the look of your stair configuration if you change the wall height to one of the taller walls and reconfigure the stair a little. See the pic below. The configuration I used moves the upper stair landing tile from being over the lower stair section and it will work just fine in live mode.
