I had this problem for a while.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and it worked

Although, I recommend to save to the cloud and back EVERYTHING up.

You do have to remake your sim and press play so don't be alarmed.

But it did work for me!

I have the most recent update, playing on a Huawei P9 Plus. Have been having an issue since before the last two updates, I always update my apps as soon as its available. Same issue as the others, my first sim got stuck on the Dr career tried changing to fashion career multiple times, can go to the buildings but there is no pink star to start the career actions and now cant even interact with the objects. This sim has been stuck like this for ages now, feeling annoyed cause I have paid real money on this game to use cupcakes etc and now I cant progress..
