Sims start conversation with autonomy off

@snowbelle789 That's interesting because I just don't remember a time where sims wouldn't autonomously do things in a conversation, and regardless of the autonomy setting. In fact it's always been something I kinda liked, because then I could turn autonomy off without my sim feeling like a puppet during conversations. So if it is unintended behavior, then it's something I've been experiencing for a long time. Plus hey to be fair this game has been broken for so long I'm not even sure what is or isn't a bug anymore, so you may just be right.

Either way, I've always wished that they would give us a true autonomy off option because then things like this could be avoided. I mean hey Sims 3 had 3 different autonomy options, why can't this game? For Sims 3 there was an option for fully on, an option for fully off, and a middle option which basically functioned like the "off" setting in Sims 4. I'm always seeing a bunch of autonomy related problems in the bug section, and being able to properly turn it off could be useful for some of those.

Agree with @valohim666 I had always this action, and I play since vampire release active this game with autonomy off. Are you sure you don’t used a mod for it and this mod is now broken? I agree that the game got aggressive with it. I cancel a topic and the game just chose the next in a second. I never had it so aggressive.

@valohim666 Sims3 had also forced actions, but this was very rare and never caused your sim to stand still or go in the last corridor in your house just to admire a stupid lamp. My favourite is always this force hug greeting, and if a youtuber rant again because he cancels the socializing before start, but his sim still goes to the target sim. Your Sim will still perform this hug-greeting, it is a hidden action in your queue, the same with admire the deco. Your sim will go to the target and perform this action. // Although admire deco works a little different. Your sim will cancel it halfway and try performing it short after again and cancel your active task again (showering is a good example)

Yeah, I miss a true autonomy off mode. In sims 4 I use a ton of mods just to remove all these forced actions. Sorry but my sim is not a fan of Judith Ward, and he don’t reaction if Bob Pancake needs to swear again in a restaurant + he doesn’t want to pet Mayor Whisker because he has a cat allergy!

@daikoyu It's possible it was MCCC as it I tested it without any of my other mods before taking everything out and I was able to get it working like I used to with just that in there very briefly. However I also tested it without MCCC and it also worked. The problem happened when I tried to put all my mods back in, it stopped working as described in previous posts. So now I don't know how to get it back? Any chance you could give me the mods you use to make the game a little less crazy?

@snowbelle789

Sorry, but I can’t really help you with this issue. I have the problem that this *bug* which you encounter was never a bug for me. It was always so in a vanilla game and in my modded (I never removed this action just removed the option that sims can pick flirty, mean or mischiefs social actions if they chat) + I am incredible confused and I am now not sure if I understand the issue correct here. I am sorry.

Abouth your other question:

Spoiler
I would recommend checking lazarushinashes, bienchen, simularity, zero and LittleMsSam out. They all have mods which remove forced actions or at least tweak it so that it is not noticeable for your played sims. (Just google mod-author name + sims4, they have all her own site / patreon; although zero is a little messy: here you should google zero minor annoyances / various tweaks)

It's not a bug. I always play with autonomy off and my game has always been this way.

@daiko Thank you for your help! I think my game used to be a little weird with autonomy and now it's working how it does for everyone else. And thanks for answering my other question!

@snowbelle789 One more question for you: Do they engage again if you cancel the conversation ?

@snowbelle789 OK. So from what I understand, the conversation should go on until you cancel it. So if start a conversation and just let them, new topics will be autonomously chosen.

If you never tell them to talk though or cancel the conversation, they should not.

If you tell them to do something else, and then that task is over, do the auto-engage in conversations again ?
