Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.91.186.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them and a handful of kits
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? For me it happened while my sim was typing a term paper in university. I clicked the arrows to speed up time and when I clicked back she and all of her dorm mates were frozen. The clock was also frozen.
What happens when the bug occurs? Outside animation from tree leaves and sounds from the tv still work but all sims on the lot are frozen. I can’t click anything or try to reset them. I can’t open the phone. I can open the calendar but it didn’t help. I tried to save but it was just and endless spinning wheel. Same with when I tried to zoom out and travel that way. The only way to quit the game is to use task manager. Clicking the X doesn’t do anything.
What do you expect to see? Sims moving and a functional game.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. It wasn’t happening before the 8/30 patch. My sim was still in college then and writing term papers and I was definitely speeding up time and didn’t have this issue. I have not added any new mods or CC. The only thing new I added is the latest kit.
I’m not sure if it’s only from writing term papers or if it’s from speeding up the time clock. I have sped up the clock while my sim walked to class and that didn’t cause it so I honestly don’t know what’s going on. This is a game breaking bug that I can’t ignore so it’s especially frustrating. I removed my mods and it still happened.

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199
You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup.
After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.
Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.
The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.
Good Luck
