My sims will not go to work/school on time and there is no way to make them. The notification saying they have work/school in an hour doesn't even show up until after they are supposed to be there and it doesnt say they are missing it when they are.

Are you using any mods in your game ?

 

I've seen this reported before but I can't seem to find the thread atm.

Me too.  The 'go to work' action appears about 30 sim mins after their official work time.  Couple this bug with a delay in actions being cancelled and my sims are always over 1 sim hour late for work and its extremely difficult to get a promotion.
