Sims Glossy with Glitching Textures And Causes Computer Freezes

[ Edited ]
★★★★ Novice

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.58.69.1010
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Get Together, Get to Work, Cats and Dogs, Seasons, Island Living, Outdoor Retreat, Dine Out, Spa Day, Vampires, Perfect Patio Stuff
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Enter CAS or load a Household in Sims
What happens when the bug occurs? When entering CAS Sims will appear glossy and textured wrong. As time goes on more graphical errors will begin to show up until the game freezes, locking up my computer as well. Music will still play on the computer as though the game isn't frozen. When opening a Sims save, upon selecting to play a household the sims loading menu will arrive and when the song plays announcing the game will be opening shortly, the game will freeze and lock up the entire computer system. But the music will still continue to play like it's loading still. If it loads the game, Sims will experience graphical errors and will have graphics that jump around the screen.
What do you expect to see? Normal graphics and the game loading as normal
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I have already tried all the usual ways to remove errors listed for other issues All mods were removed, every folder was removed to restart sims from scratch, sims was uninstalled and reinstalled, the Legacy edition was downloaded. None of those methods worked to fix the error.

Since the game froze my entire computer instead of crashing only the game I do not have a crash report for any of the many times it froze.

Problems seem to have started 2 updates ago as the game was working perfectly fine before then.

Had to Link these because I couldn't post otherwise.

Please can you provide more information about your Mac. Instructions on how to do so and what to provide here - http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612...

Using CC/Mods is at your own risk, EA are not responsible for making the game compatible with 3rd party content, the creator is.

Operating System: OS X El Capitan 10.11.6

Mac model: MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)

Processor: 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7

Memory (RAM): 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2048 MB

Graphics/Displays:
AMD Radeon R9 M370X (
Driver Version 01.00.945)

Intel Iris Pro

I am not running an antivirus that could be causing this issue.
I have tried to repair the game and it only helps temporarily before issues return and do not stop the freezing problem

I have removed all mods and CC and issues still occur.

Please let me know if you need anymore information @Bluebellflora

@KittyMun

Thanks! Your issue is most probably El Capitan - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/Sims-4-issues-with-Mac-OS-X-El-Capitan/m-p/8441782#M2...

Can you upgrade to High Sierra or later, it should fix it. Don’t upgrade to Sierra, the game is even worse in that OS.
