Sim not using toilet

Since the patch update before high school years one of my sims has had to go to the bathroom but every time I tell her to go the toilet after a second or two the toilet icon just goes away. I updated the game this morning with the newest patch and then went in to send her to the bathroom and sure enough, after about 2 seconds (in real time) the icon just disappears like I never told her to go. I have moved everything in the bathroom and she was using the toilet fine as were all my other sims in the household just fine before the patch. I do not have any mods or cc installed.
