Yesterday during the server issues, I tried to claim my daily rewards and was repeatedly met with a Connection Error. The first reward I tried to claim was supposed to level me up to 68, which it did, but I received no bonus energy. I also gained much more experience than intended while repeatedly trying to claim my daily reward. I was able to partake in other modes mostly normally.
I also have not received crystal compensation and it was hinted at by support that I would not be eligible for the rewards (likely since most of the game was working for me). However he also said he agreed I should be eligible based on the fact that I've had this issue as a result of the server issues, and have had to reach out to support about it.
