Reaper's Rewards: Research Ambrosia not showing up

What happens when the bug occurs? The option to research ambrosia does not show up, same with the seance table
What do you expect to see? For the phone, there should be option to research ambrosia in the home tab but it doesn't appear
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. The most recent game patch, but the reapers reward event wasn't working for me at all prior to the patch

All other quests worked fine except the research ambrosia one and the seance table one. I have removed all mods, disabled organized debug for BBB, deleted cache files, repaired my game. Still not working.

I also have the same problem, and a lot of people do too. EA should release the items..

Try the following

• Close the game
• Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
• Repair the game
• Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry. 
• Start a new save game
• Check if you still have the error
• Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.

I resolved this issue with something similar to the steps you've provided (moved acountDataDB.package, UserSetting.ini, temporarily removed mods, deleted localthumcache.package, repaired game). And I was able to get Research Ambrosia to pop up (on my old save game even) and completed that series of quests before restoring my files and was able to keep the progress and move onto the next week of quests.

To provide additional information, I think that what went wrong in my game was that I was initially able to start the process of researching, but then my sim got interrupted by the Paranormal Freelancer Career Gig. When I got back from the gig, I wasn't able to continue researching. So it seems like it may be possible that at least one of the ways that this occurs is if a sim starts doing research but is unable to complete the research in one go (and maybe traveling off lot could contribute as well). The option gets removed and there's no way to continue or restart.

I do use mods, so it may be possible that it might have been caused by a conflict, but I figured the information may be useful to help debug and maybe prevent some people from encountering this problem.

I'm doing week 3 of the Reaper's event. I'm stuck on "Wait for Ambrosia Society newsletter" task. I don't have any mods, I repaired the game, received the newsletter 4 times already, and it's still not working. 

Is anyone facing the same issue?

Can you still complete Week 1 tasks after Week 1? I'm worried that you can't, and that's why "Research Ambrosia" is not coming up.

In order to fix this, I had to have my sim travel off of my home lot and then the option was available in the Home tab of the phone.

I was having this problem but I had another member of my household interact with the computer and it showed up for that sim and completed the task.

@jules32557 For me, I also saw it was on their phone, under the "home" section. Just in case someone doesn't have a computer available and/or it's bugged there.

I'm honestly pretty fed up with this reaper reward quest :/ It's the second week that it's decided halfway through to stop giving me the options to complete tasks. Last time I had to redo the whole week to get the rewards to unlock. Now I can't get the option for researching ambrosia, and it also crashed my main house three times on opening when trying to load the reaper's reward window. 

...I don't use mods, or custom content. I don't want to remove bits of my game or lose some of my data just to make something from EA work. 

The sims in my house have between them max cooking, gardening, and fishing, and fairly high gourmet cooking. So they can complete the tasks, the game is just not giving them the option to do this one

I have tried different households and different lots, also PC and phone for multiple sims. But the option for the task with the plumbob isn't even coming up for it now. It's just acting like it's completed when it hasn't, and the reward is still locked.
