Problem with new Events

Since the latest update I cannot no longer battle in the training droid and profit mining events: "Collect and promote valid characters in order to proceed"

How many valid characters do you need? I'm at level 68 with many characters unlocked: Vader, Kylo, Darth Sidious, Capt. Phasma, Barriss, all with at least 4 stars, along with many others that I'm building. Is there a certain class I need to find and promote? Thanks for any help.
