I had a sim get pregnant 3 days from aging to an elder, then also at two days. The Try for Baby option popped up even at 0 days until aging up. She outlived many of her first children (100 baby challenge) and was at 140+ days lived upon becoming an elder (I believe it's usually just over 100...). Is it supposed to be like this, or is it a bug?

I don't think it is a bug because the game is intentionally programmed so the pregnant sims can't age up or die.
Maybe they should prevent the "Try for a baby" if the sim is going to age up in less than 3 days.

I noticed this as well, i found someone for my female sim in my game and they happened to be the exact same age, down to the day. when she got pregnant her aging stopped and she was only a young adult. so he aged before her. its weird and definitely should not be this way

Not just Adults but also Young Adult Sims. The female Sims seem to temporarily stop aging for a few days when pregnant. This has happened to several different Sims in multiple saves. Not sure if this is by design or a glitch. The last time I looked it was particularly noticeable was with Twin siblings. Female had been pregnant twice. I happened to be checking to see how long she and her Male twin had before their Elder birthdays. She was Six Sim days younger than her Twin. I ended up using the Birthday cake so they would age up the same day. Her sibling died of old age. But she is still alive at least two Sim weeks later.

Definitely not a bug.
They probably did this cause aging up while pregnant can lead to serious issues.

Then why not disable being able to get pregnant 3/4 days before aging up to both Adult and Elder? The pregnancy aging pause just doen't seem right.

I think that's how it was in Sims 3.
If you don't like it, I would suggest posting in the feedback/ideas forum over at the official forum.
