[PLEASE READ] Usage of Mods and Custom Content

[ Edited ]

As time goes by, more and more mods and custom content are released and it's totally ok to use them. EA does support their usage in Sims 4 although you'll still be using at your own risk.

A mod is something that changes the game code and because of this, each and every mod needs to be checked with every new patch or they can cause issues. Custom content such as clothing and hair can also become obsolete but not as often.

Because of this, it's very important that you

  1. Test your game without mods
  2. Remove all your mods BEFORE the patching process and only put them back if the creators says it's ok to use.
  3. State in your report if you use or have used mods.

Please do NOT report anything before you have done this.

The following bugs are already known to be caused by bugs:

  • Swimwear option missing or not working correctly (anything to do with clothing)
  • Sims walking on water (walkstyle mods)
  • Bugged computer interactions.
  • Can't place beds (ScriptError) --> Any mods to do with beds
  • Can't use the toilet
  • Can't use the TV
  • New phone interactions missing
  • Can't unpause the game --> Mods that have to do with speed
  • Problems with name generator --> UI Cheats Extension mod.
  • Game bouncing back to map screen --> Stop friendship Decay Mod.
  • Sims don't do anything
  • Messed UIs in CAS and live mode
  • Can't pick up pets --> CC Sofas/benches and beds
  • Can't eat --> cc Sofas/benches/bed
  • Can't bath pet

Here's a list for patch 03/26: Custom Content - Compilation of Broken CC/Mods for Patch 1.5.139.1020

List for broken mods for gender/dine out patch: Broken/Updated Mods (not CC), June 2 patch + Dine Out GP

List of broken mods for City Living Patch Broken/Updated Mods, OCT. 27/16 + CL

Re: [PLEASE READ] Changes in the Bug Forum

Hi guys

I'm currently very picky about mods and cc as a lot of issues are related to them. I'm not blaming everything on mods, I just wanna make sure it's not that.

  • Always test on a new save after removing mods and cc (and do remove EVERYTHING) and delete your cache files
  • Do not make reports with cc/mods installed

It seems that there's issues that stay even if you remove your mods and there's enough game issues the devs need sorting out without having to waste time on cc ones.

Thanks.
