[PC] Sims Delivery Error Code: <Long Number>

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.82.99.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Just boot up the game. It happens on the main menu.
What happens when the bug occurs? Ever since the most recent patch update, every time I boot up the game, I always get a notification of a Sims Delivery error like the game was trying to download something via the new Sims Delivery Express but something goes wrong.
What do you expect to see? Not a notification about an error code with a bunch of zeroes in it, that's for sure.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. This started happening after the November 30, 2021 patch update.

I actually spent hours yesterday, November 30th, DMing several EA Help workers, tried everything they told me to try, but the error keeps persisting. I've even tried to Google the specific error code (in the title) to see if I get any hits, but I found nothing. It's a unique one, I'll give it that.

I play The Sims 4 on a Lenovo IdeaPad S145 laptop, if that means anything.

Attached isn't the best quality photo of the notification that I get, but hopefully it's good enough, and I'll try taking a better one to post later.

Edit By Crinrict: Adjusted Title to better reflect the issue

@harasnicole I'm not sure if you're able to try a VPN but it turned out to be what saved my SDX download 😅 not in fact the ip4v change

Hi @harasnicole

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

  • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
  • Tray Folder
  • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
  • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
  • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
  • ConfigOverride, if you have your own configuration files.
  • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

Good Luck

Okay, I did the factory reset described in that linked post, but the error is still there.

@harasnicole There hasn't been a delivery yet so that message is strange.

What security software are you using ?

@harasnicole Could you check if you have the windows ransomware protection on and if so, temporarily disable to see if the error goes away ?

@harasnicole Do you get multiple messages or is it a one time thing when you load the game ?

It's usually just the one message as I load the game, but this morning it decided to wait until I was already in-game for the error notification to come through. I have the automatic download turned off.

@harasnicole I haven't seen any other reports so not sure what's causing this. Are you on Windows 10 ?

Did you turn off Origin automatic download or for the SDX ?
