It never happened before, but today when I did the challenge, the cake appeared as both success and failure with a successful message. 

Not sure if the video is playable, but just in case here is the screenshot from that video: 

Then I clicked "Continue" and my sim started to make a cake again and it appeared as both Success and Failure again, but with a disaster message. 

Eventually I passed that round (I believe that was round 4 our of 7). 

P.S. I might have pressed bake button twice. Not sure.
