[OPEN] [SE] Can't pick guest for mountain excursion (missing check mark) [ Edited ]

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? all except werewolves, wedding, Batu, kits, a few stuff packs.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Start a mountain excursion .
What happens when the bug occurs? wont let me pick a guest or secondary person only a leader.
What do you expect to see? I should be able to select a second guest so I can start my excursion
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Before the resent update it wouldn't work at all my game would just freeze and go back to select a world and I would have to restart my game, I read online it was the vampire pack interfering so i disabled it and it still did not work. I also tried repairing the game and re-installing.

@xoloveox Could you explain what you mean by won't let you select ? Do you have none to select ?

I tested this and it worked for me although there were some oddities with the check mark not showing up right away. Is that what you mean ?

@crinrict yes that is what I'm talking about but the check mark never showed up for me, I'll try again today

@xoloveox Try switching to the location and then back. that def worked for me although also selecting the leader in the group and then selecting them as leader again also did.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Plan a social event, then click Mountain Excursion. Select Click to Invite Guests. The check mark in the Invite Guests panel will be missing.
What happens when the bug occurs? The check mark when inviting guests is missing, so I'm unable to invite any sims to the event, which makes it unplayable.
What do you expect to see? A check mark to be there so that I can confirm to invite those sims and start the event.

When I go to select guests to invite to a mountain excursion event, the check mark to confirm that I want them to come is not there. So I'm unable to invite the 1 required sim, which means that I'm unable to start the event. The check mark is there when I go to select a leader, so that part's working just fine. Just not the inviting guests part for some reason. I removed all my mods and the problem is still there. I tried a couple other social events, and those work just fine, no missing check marks. I also tried two other saves, and they have the same problem.

What happens when the bug occurs? I can select the Host sim, but when i select a excursion member, there's no check box at the bottom to select them (only 1 is required) and go to the next step.

i disabled mods, restarted, same issue.

@crinrictI wanted to test the Mt. Komorebi excursion, to see if I too had the recent bug that doesn't complete the hike, and I ran into this instead. I tried with an old save, with a new one, trying to change team leaders, but no luck, I don't get the button to confirm group members.
I am still in the testing phase, without mods/cc and with clean cache.

I can also confirm the weirdness of the checkmark on the "Excursion Team Member" picker screen sometimes not showing up (all packs, a save never touched by mods). 

Two workarounds that have worked: 

1. Picking the excursion members first and the host second. 

2. Selecting the host but then going back to the event selection screen and selecting Mountain Climb Excursion again. It was always possible to select the team members the second time. 

About the checkmark not showing up, I have tried with different household composition, with phone/calendar planning, on various days. I couldn't find a pattern. On the same day with the same selection of sims: sometimes the checkmark shows up, sometimes it doesn't.

I've also experienced this. No checkmark shows up to confirm the members or hire any type of bartender or caterer, etc. For me, it's with ALL social events. Most recently, I tried in two different saves to do a  "Meet and Greet" from Get Famous. No mods or CC here and I saw this issue before the March 14th patch as well but maybe not before the one that preceded it. Not sure. I took a hiatus from the game after my frustration with the HSY best friends bug.

Choosing the "celebrity" last is one workaround, as Alas_Enkidu mentioned. Also, sometimes closing out of the event screen and returning (but this is far less reliable). In both cases, I've had issues. But once you chose the host/celebrity/birthday person, I always have to close the event entirely and reenter to get the checkboxes to show up again to confirm any of the additional event details.

I have all packs (except several of the kits) installed.
